Re: Severe Ab Cramps when doing ab exercises

I get these too sometimes and it never happened until I started taking creatine. This doesn't happen if I keep well-hydrated.

Re: Age comparison formula

Here is another excellent resource if you would like to consider adding rowing events instead of the traditional track events. This might be worth considering if you have the equipment since it's...

Re: Why American Swings?

Nobody put forward a theory that AS > RS by a factor of 2:1. What they did was compare the power output of the two swings across multiple athletes and observed that the Russian swing produced 65% of...

Re: Supp Question

I would keep taking creatine so that I wouldn't have to back through a loading period in a couple weeks and there's no real downside to taking it. No need to take the BCAAs though.

Re: Help me pick a minimal time strength program

Yes, he has recommendations for a two-day plan. It ends up being a 7 week program instead of 4.

Week 1
Day 1: Bench Press
Day 2: Squat

Week 2
Day 1: Press
Day 2: Deadlift

Re: 2:00 Max Cal Row Tourney : Female handicap?

Sounds like a fun idea, but a handicap is probably needed to make this fun. According to the Concept2 website, the average 500m time trial pace for all men is 1:44.6 and for women it is 2:09.4. So,...

Re: Squats only WOD

Obviously not a back squat WOD, but they've posted this rep scheme with a number of different exercises. Could be what you're thinking of.

Either way, it's a good one.

Re: Squats only WOD

Was it:
Front Squat 1-10-1-20-1-30 reps?

That appeared on the main site on 121105, 110715, and 091223.

Re: Is it only 3 Athletes from each Region make the games ?

They made this very clear last year that there are no more lifetime passes and competitors have to qualify to go to the games. That's why you saw Rich and Graham at Regionals. Of course, HQ still...

Re: Is it only 3 Athletes from each Region make the games ?

Previous winners don't get a pass. They still have to qualify, but if they do qualify they won't take up one of the three spots for regionals.

Re: What's the name of this gymnastics movement?

I think it's called a pullover. There are different variants based on whether you pull, swing, or kick on your way up over the bar.

Re: 1.5 KM Technique

You want to avoid going out too hard in the beginning. Shoot for 1:58-2:00/500m pace and try to hold it steady. If you feel like you have plenty of gas left after the first 1k then you can try...

Re: Non C2 Rower Problem?

Just counting strokes might motivate you to pull light and fast and negate the purpose of the workout to some extent.

If I were you I'd do a 1:40, 3:30, and 7:10 time trial on your LifeCore...

Re: "jump and touch" question

The standard on 12.1 was to measure with your feet together flat on the floor, so I would apply the same standard here.

Re: WOD ideas for 2 Rowing Machines & 6 People Per Class

Mostly, you're going to want to do variations of team workouts. The simplest is to divide into two teams and do a chipper workout including the rower.

Or you could do a variation of the Team...
