Re: 2017 Games thread

I was hoping that it's a sprint triathlon. Sprint 400m, Swim 100M, Sprint 200M, with the first 400 it's own separate score. Just a pure 5 minutes or so in the pain cave, it would be fun to watch as...

Re: Back Squats.... Lingering Iliopsoas Soreness

Hey buddy, It seems your having some hip flexor pain because your starting that squat realllllllly over-extended. Lower back a little lit up too? If not, it will be. Here are some videos explaining...

Re: HOw do YOU add crossfit to your workout?

Well, the simple answer is to get a good coach and have him program for you.

The truth of the matter is that this is a very loaded question. People are dedicating their lives to understand the...

Re: Help! Can't do any compound lifts for 4-6 weeks!

Popped a rib last year, myself. All I can say is to relax and let those 6 weeks come and go. Get outside, go hiking, ride your bike, take your dogs for a run. When you get in the gym, live on the...

Re: Is Rich Froning the next Lance Armstrong?

Waaaaaiiiiiit a minute... The girl who deadlifted 475 in a Grid Match got popped for a PED? No way I am buying that one...

Levity aside, I think that at least at the regional level, Crossfit is a...

Re: can you comment on my squats

My only beef is that it's a bit knee initiated. The hips need to initiate first by going back and getting tension in the hamstrings, but that's really nit picking because it's barely knee initiated....

Re: cfne or invictus??

If you have training partners to push you and will do the program with you, I think Bergerons is best. It's more classic Crossfit than Invictus' is, a bit more easily manipulated to address...

Re: Need Help for my programming

I followed CompTrain for about 2 years. Great results, but my schedule has gotten really weird and I just program for what I have time for now. My buddies who I did CompTrain with now do Invictus....

Re: Is Rich Froning the next Lance Armstrong?

I try not to make accusations of people using steroids. Chances are they are way more disciplined and singular focused than I could ever hope to be. However one of the things I look at is their...

Re: Mainsite Programing

Take for example a soldier, maybe he does a 15 mile ruck through the mountains looking for insurgents. He was climbing, going down hill, all with 60# of gear, his nutrition is suspect at best, he got...

Re: Sports specific golf exercises

I've been looking for it for a while, but can't find it. Anywho, there's a Glassman talk about sport specific training somewhere, and in a nutshell, what I took away from it is that their sport...

Re: Mobility - How much time do you spend on it.

On a daily basis about 20-30 Minutes. Warm up is usually bar stuff, activation stuff, a few hip and shoulder openers. Row and stretch post work out Evenings usually include some rolling, smashing,...

Re: Knee crunching with straight feet in squat

So, hows your ankle mobility? Hip external rotation? Adductor length? The straight foot squat is awesome if you have the mobility for it and understand the biomechanics. I have been a starret groupie...

Re: Putting a Kid on a loadable sled. Possibilities?

I know less than nothing about parenting, but this doesn't sound like a super great idea.

That being said, I did way dumber stuff when I was kid and I'm still kickin' so that being said. I would...

Re: Strength Program

Starting strength, simple linear progression, enough volume where you feel like your doing something, and plenty of variety. Go get jacked.

Re: Squatting

Probably missing a little bit of flexibility through the ankles (most people are), but I don't think that's the biggest issue. I'd work on hip openers and the initiation sequence first and for most....

Re: Squatting

Hey Man, you've got good flexibility through the hips, I think at least, with some squat development, we may be able to tell a bit more. Your posting here which obviously shows some courage which is...

Subluxated Rib

So, doing some Snatch Balances 2 weeks ago, I subuxated a Rib (per 3 different chiropractors). I knew some Mobility was lacking that day, but it wasn't bad. Turns out it was, bad overhead position,...

Re: Reebok only apparel at Crossfit Games?

I think it's just kinda part of the deal, why not just change over to the nano's/lifters if you know your going to have to wear them? You know your going to be doing pull-ups on a rogue rig, so why...

Re: Your Favourite Events in Games history to date ?

Chipper from 2012, 2010 sandbag event, watching froning do the 100's from regionals is my favorite though. Just watching him move is awesome. The Burden run also takes the cake, but I think that's...

Re: Surf and Crossfit anyone?

Plain and simple, it saved my life. One story in specific. Nov '12 I was out in a big, cold, big day on the East Coast. We had one of the biggest NorEasters in several years and I was out in at dawn....

Re: Shoulder issue (with pic!)

Definitely some imbalances there. Looks like your missing some external rotation on that left side for sure. I'd go after the whole front side, pec minor specifically. Jam a lax ball it in it and...

Thrombossed Hemerrhoid -- Ouch...

Allrighty. First off, if you have something like, "Be a man and pop it and quite being a little girl" to say, just stop. You've obviously never had one, or your a marine who had one in Iraq, and I am...
