Re: Hookgrip knee sleeves

Bear in mind shipping from Hookgrip is $15 for unlimited items, so you can get a few t shirts as well as the knee sleeves, and the shipping will remain the same.

Re: Bottom of Snatch

Externally rotating the humerus puts the elbow at greater risk of dislocation if the bar falls backwards and you pull forward. For this reason I encourage internally rotating the humerus while...

Re: 2015 CrossFit Open, Regionals, and Games Thread

Well done to Ben Smith! Great final heat!

I had a feeling Fraser wasn't going to win before the week started but I didn't share it. Happy to see a European on the podium! Gudmundson has done well...

Re: Is Rich Froning the next Lance Armstrong?

First CrossFit main site workout was posted on 10/02/2001, the current main site was launched in May 2003.

I could probably show Wingo an elite athletes S&C programme (strength and power sessions,...

Re: Is Rich Froning the next Lance Armstrong?

To clarify, are you saying that implementing a CrossFit style programme will make greater improvements than his current S&C programme? Of which you have no information on?

Re: Is Rich Froning the next Lance Armstrong?

Blocks of GPP training have been used for decades long before CrossFit Santa Cruz opened.

Re: 2015 CrossFit Open, Regionals, and Games Thread

I'm the same. If I have control of the music at the gym (which is usually when I'm alone in the gym), I turn it off.

This attitude does seem to be more prevalent in Europeans than Americans.

Re: Can anyone guess what is inside Castro's head

I'm going to take a long shot and guess that his brain is inside his head.

Re: right foot turning out more in squats/squat cleans, also right leg hurting while walking

It's definitely your piriformis.

In all seriousness, this isn't something that should be diagnosed over the Internet, because there are so many possible reasons for your problem (lack of...

Re: comprehensive barbell list 2015

The centre knurl on the AF Klokov bar is rougher than the regular knurl on most bars. Not Eleiko or Werksan sharp, but a lot rougher than I expected. I taped the centre knurl with electrical tape so...

Re: comprehensive barbell list 2015

The main thing with the extra cost is the IWF certification, which is not cheap. The build quality of an IWF brand bar is also much higher than the Klokov bar, so I would be more confident of an IWF...

Re: comprehensive barbell list 2015

There is a difference in the whip between an Eleiko competition bar and an Eleiko training bar. Both are 28mm and 20kg with the same tensile strength. You need to lift on both regularly though to...

Re: What does multiple workouts a day really mean?

For me, a strength session with a metcon tacked on in a 1 hour period is 1 workout. An early morning run from 6-7, with a weightlifting session 10-12, then metcon (could be multiple couplets or...

Re: timing and rhythm for pulls and hip extension

Think of it as one movement, not 3. Don't focus on hip extension, focus on keeping the pull smooth.

Re: What do you think of Functional Patterns...?

In a recent attempt to rid negativity from my life, I have decided to not have an opinion on Mr Aguilar. I haven't really read too much on FP itself, so could someone give me laymans interpretation...

Re: 2015 CrossFit Open, Regionals, and Games Thread

Sandbag carry comes to mind, from the 2010 games.

That was a really good video. Really enjoyed it.

Re: Explosion techniques

Improve your technique and do some jumping. Broad jumps, hurdle jumps, box jumps etc. No more than 25 jumps per session, 2 sessions per week, focus on the quality of the jumps.

Re: Good lifting numbers

For me, a bloke weighing over 74kg who can snatch over 130 and C&J over 160 is a good lifter.

Re: getting stuck at the bottom of a squat clean?

Don't worry about ratios. Get your legs and back strong and keep improving your technique, and it'll take care of itself.

Re: Is Rich Froning the next Lance Armstrong?

But how does he sustain this workload? 6 workouts in 1 day? I can't imagine he maintains that workload over a extended period. It's my belief that a workload of over 13 sessions per week isn't...
