Re: CrossFit LA Business System PDF - Free

As a capitalist I have no ideological opposition to making money, but I have to comment on the what appears to be extremely disingenuous posturing. Frankly, it's a bit insulting. "Mulitple requests...

Re: strength scale

Coach Burgener has a story of his son going from something like 40 to 53" box jump in just a few months using heavy squats and box jumping. Do a search if you're interested & sorry if I'm fuzzy on...

Re: Hybrid Program Heavy Metcons

Takeoff on the DL/PP

5 rds
5 Push Press (135#)
20 Pushups

13:28

Was probably a bad idea. I had no idea that these two were sharing some of the same muscles unlike DL/PP. The 2nd rd of pushups...

Re: Deadlifts...how heavy to go?

The Who (Pete Townsend). Pretty good air, huh? This is a late Who photo - prob early 80's (telltale Schecter Tele). I feel old now.

Alexander, yeah, on 1RM attempts at 415 I was getting...

Re: I shat myself during Fran

Best. Thread. (title). Ever.

was looking fwd to a good story here. A bit disappointed but amused all the same by the bait & switch. The pre-WOD duece is standard around here, so I figured you had...

Re: Deadlifts...how heavy to go?

Agree w/ Brian.

I've had lower back problems for years (much better now after CF). The high-rep DL's will put the hurt on me for several days, but 1RM/3RM/5RM are not a problem. I say keep pushing...

Re: Hybrid Program Heavy Metcons

Don't see a lot of 1-arm dumbell snatches, which I think is a fantastic movement. Here are a few I like that use it.

1A-DBHPS = 1-arm dumbell hang pwr snatch
---------

A. 100 (55#) 1A-DBHPS (50...

Coach B, you're one super-cool guy!:notworth:

I'm still on deployment until mid-March. I'll give you a call upon our triumphant return if that's ok.

Re: A Couple Questions to Ask

As injury-free as CF seems to be, the most comon issue that I hear of are elbows. Shoulders is #2. I'm not a doctor of any sort, so I don't know if it's inflamed ligaments or what, but I'd listen...

Re: APFT Running

Can't agree w/ you Pat. Everyone isn't going to max the run doing the WOD alone. Running favors the lean. The overwheming majority of sub-13 2-milers are small & slim and are gonna get smoked...

I think you've got something like 15 min to edit a post. After that it's locked.

Re: The Paleo Diet WORKS!

Herm, great #'s. Can you tell us more about your diet & it's effects. Height/weight/ bodyfat (before & after), etc. My times would take off if I could just buckle down on the diet.

Re: From 45% bodyfat to 5 minute Fran! With Pics!

Nice work David, keep it up!

Our before & after pics are remarkably similar, as is our height. What's your age? I'm hanging out at 40 right now. The biggest difference is somehow I started out in...

Re: First "Fran" 7:20; second "Fran" 3:44

Intent: no abs = has bodyfat to lose, ergo, room for strength/bwt improvement unlike someone like Speal who fairly maxed in terms of bodyfat %.

Same goes for me. If I could drop 20 lbs of chub...

He's 24 now. Big, but not huge. I know he said he did 3 sports in H.S. - track, swimming, & I don't remember the last one. Not sure what else - I'd have to ask, but probably standard...

Re: Your questions for Coach and Lauren on CrossFit Radio?

Sorry, wanted to mention 1 more thing.

If it seems I am a bit fixated, I admit this is true. My interest began when I noticed, regarding our "gymnastics/weightlifting/sprinting cult" that I wasn't...

Re: Your questions for Coach and Lauren on CrossFit Radio?

It's a fair point Stephen, but yes, I did mean why don't we see "more". You can't really call a 1-3-5RM strength workout to be an interval workout, so I don't include them. Lynne is arguable, and...

Re: Crossfit Radio

Christian,

I think your instincts are right on. I finally heard the CF podcast yesterday and there was way too much smugness that I would have cared for. They pulled back a bit in the end...

Re: First "Fran" 7:20; second "Fran" 3:44

Congrats Brandon, 3:44 is awesome and judging by your times I'd expect you can be under 3 min in 2-3 mo. if you keep hitting it hard. I'm working on getting under 5 min!

I have a guy who started...
