scaling for females

Quick question, what is the proper scaling for a 135 # female for any weighted exercise? (ex. 95# thruster for a 180# man in Fran, what should the weight be for a 135# female?) Thanks in advance.

Re: Question

Ya, I know that, but I just know they wouldn't do a good job, since "they" don't do research to keep up with what is new in the industry, and more so, they don't understand CF-that is the big reason....

Re: Question

Thanks, that is what I thought. Tough part is I consider the manager a friend (and her husband a closer friend). I considered trying to come up with the cash to affiliate first, then hit a cert....

Question

First some background, I am a fitness instructor at a local gym (we don't really have any big name "globo" gyms here like Golds or 24hr, although there has been some small 24 hours gyms open up in...

rings

Just made some rings! They turned out great! Now to figure out the muscle up. The rings will nicely compliment the new kettlebell my wife bought me for my wedding present! (isn't she awesome?!)

Re: New WOD name? "Christy"

"Christy" was meant to be an upper body WOD since her knees are really bothering her right now, KB swings wouldn't have worked for her. She used 45# for the push press...so males should use approx....

New WOD name? "Christy"

My soon to be wife is an incredible athlete (all-American track 400,800m). Still amazed she said yes....anyway, here is her named workout...pretty brutal:

"Christy"

Re: Split Snatch

Greg, Thanks for that info. I do alternate my feet each rep, to keep "balance"
I really like this lift because of the athleticism it takes! (and I have horrible shoulder flexibility :)).

Re: Split Snatch

Bill, Thanks for that info as well. I plan to get some video soon, that way I will be able to really see what is going on. It feels right, I just want to make sure.

Re: Split Snatch

David, Thanks for that info (based on your experience). The range of motion is the part that is hurting me with the squat snatch. I figure I will still gain explosive power with the split snatch,...

Re: Split Snatch

Since the WOD is the snatch, I hope that there will be some more replies to this post about the split snatch vs. the squat snatch. I seem to have the split down fairly well...planning on some video...

Re: Split Snatch

I can split snatch around 135 right now...working up to more. This is a lift I have only done with dumbells up until this past week.

Re: Split Snatch

Joe, thanks for the response. What you said is what I thought. I love this lift, even if I don't have some of the flexibility to perform the squat snatch. If I will increase balance using the...

Split Snatch

I seem to be able to perform the split snatch, but I can't seem to do a "regular" or squat snatch at all (even with the warm up and with a broomstick). I have a feeling that I probably won't be able...
