I have had similar situation - back in fall 09' after a squatting session, left quad felt like something was pulling (this is side of my total hip - have titanium rod in that leg). Worked around it...

Special K, skim milk, blueberries and flaxseed. Quick and healthy. Quit worrying about carbo this and carbo that - work out harder and enjoy some normal food . . . . .
