Heck, no, no grand portage. "eat 'em Up" was one of the toughest at a full kilometer but MAN what an effort. Had to double back on some that were blocked by deadfall...that sucked.

One of the 2 canoe guys is an ex-AF guy who worked a lot with US SOF and he was in good shape from a body fat/muscle mass POV. The other was taller than me...

I think George has it right. I was doing 6 dead hangs before I learned to kip. Then I started to get the kip down. Got up to multiple sets of 15 kips...horrible form, need to improve ROM but...
