50 squats at bodyweight? Ouch. That might be interesting to try one day. Is it "Rx" if you rack the weight to break it up, or do you have to keep it on your shoulders the whole time?...

I'm a similar age. I find recovery is easier by hitting it hard when I lift as JP describes instead of lifting with less intensity a lot. Maybe that's just me. And if the form is breaking down on...

Just pick a weight on the lighter side and go with it. If you get 13 reps on the 5+ set, who cares? Just add 5lbs for the next time around and begin the progression. It just means it will be a few...

JP suggests the approach to burpees because you can build up without wrecking your recovery, until you get to the higher numbers. I'd break it into sets like he suggests.
