Re: Atrial fibrillation in endurance athletes

My view as a person with A fib is odd but perhaps has insight to the OP.
Afib + stress + dehydration = Onset of A fib episode. Any endurance sport stresses the body and tends to dehydrate it(even...

Re: GPP Testing

I think you could do these things when it comes to a lift or just getting winded. I don't believe that a trainer could easily see if flexibility was a problem unless it was so sever that it changed...

Re: Working out on a Carrier?

Well my time on a carrier was before xf. But, working out is easy with a bit of creativity. I would make a game of general quarters. I pretended I was doing low hurdles with knee knockers. At 6'1...

Re: "Olympic size" bar surprisingly light

This is normal for a cheap bar that comes with a cheap 300# set. Mine is 32#. Not a female bar just cheap. Not a big deal as long as you know about it.

Substitute for sprinting (hitting the same muscles)

As the summer arrives and the temp rises to 110 degrees I will miss a few sprint workouts. I have no problem finding another exercise to replace the metcon effect. I do have a problem finding...

Re: Theoretical Hierarchy of Development

Stuart,

Think of the food pyramid. They are not advising you to eat grains first and when you got that all inside you switch to eating vegetables then fruit then dairy then meat (hey I'm not sure...

Re: GHD for Master's Athletes?

I tried for months do do the swiss ball route. I spent more time messing around with the ball. I added GM's to the warm up but I never seemed to get much out of them. I broke down and ordered a...

Re: Natural Movements

Jibrieel,

You seem to disagree with almost everything CrossFit believes about weightlifting. It is not the law of physics I am disputing, it is YOUR understanding of the laws that I dispute. ...

Re: Natural Movements

Maybe a look at the history of oly lifts and see how the old ones are doing? Not sure. It seems to me that many experienced coaches have beat this to death. Coaches who talk about partials is...

Re: Natural Movements

Barbell is more efficient than rock. Once on your back, muscles don't know the difference between rock and barbell. More efficient means more weight lifted. More weight lifted means more adaption....

Re: Extra Strength on the side

I stole this from a previous post and it has worked for me. I just modify the wod to fit the time and it works well. Looks suspiciously like CFSB without the volume lifts. I liked the order of the...

Re: CF or SS to get started

You will have to decide what you want to do. It sounds like your goals are consistent with doing crossfit. Your numbers do not put you into the weak catagory. Perhaps CF is for you.
I went with...

Re: Still sore/fatigued after Barbara Lite...

The great thing about CF or any good program is we get use to reading our bodies. I would suggest a slow warm up and see where you are.

Many times I have used this method and it worked well. If...

Re: NOT another SS vs. CF thread sortof

Bingo,

I agree. I don't believe CFSB could be for a new person. I have done CF for a few months then SS. I still would not want to do CFSB. I have a long way to go.
I think there are some...

Alex,
Is the danger of the person learning this on their own any worse than just doing CF on their own? They are the same movements like doing pure CF but with an aim of increased performance early...

NOT another SS vs. CF thread sortof

This question is not meant in any way to bring up wether a person should do SS or just CF. We all understand that there are reasons to just do a pure CF or a pure SS. We all understand that the...
