Re: Snatching Around Shoulder Injuries

Thanks again for the tips everyone. After a few weeks of starting to work on some of this stuff I tried full snatching for the first time yesterday. Definitely felt a little more stable, so I look...

Re: Snatching Around Shoulder Injuries

Thanks Jason- again great to hear that some people have managed to recover from a similar injury. I'd love to hear some of the specifics of your rehab programming, if you wouldn't mind posting it,...

Re: Snatching Around Shoulder Injuries

Thanks for the tips guys. It's good to know that I don't necessarily have to give up snatching entirely. As with anything in Crossfit, I'll be sure to put in some hard work at at trying to...

Snatching Around Shoulder Injuries

A few years ago I suffered a dislocated left shoulder while doing some seated DB shoulder presses. I did a few months of PT and recovered full range of motion without surgery.

Since then I have...

Re: To Smolov or Not To Smolov

For those who have done Smolov-

Re: AtLarge Nutrition

I have a general question that maybe Chris (or anyone else with knowledge) can help me with. I have read all the Bodybuilding/bro-science stuff on BCAA's and I am still pretty unclear on the...

American Weightlifting doc

Anyone else watch the new documentary from Greg Everett? I thought it was a great story/narrative and good interviews, but man - really tough to watch a 2 hour movie that is almost 80% footage of...

Re: labrum / rotator tear

Here's a related question- I dislocated my left shoulder once, approximately 2 years ago. Since then I haven't had much trouble with the joint *knock on wood*. However, the only significant problem...

Re: Paleo with Carb Back-Loading Principals

Anyone try those Gatorade carb chews as a PWO carb source? One of the problems I had was that between having a PWO shake with 50g Protein + 50-100g Carbs, it was tough to me to eat a big carb meal...

Re: Paleo with Carb Back-Loading Principals

well, like I said I was pretty loose on the guidelines so I wound up backloading even before non-training days. I'd say with 25 pounds of weight gain I only put around 2 inches or so on my waist. ...

Re: Paleo with Carb Back-Loading Principals

I did CBL loosely (meaning I backloaded at all times, not just before training days) to bulk up from around Thanksgiving until March along with some heavy power lifting training. Weight went from...

Re: Snatch technique form. Please help

Definitely looks like you aren't opening up enough through your hips. One cue that always helps me is that when you open up, think of making your pecs face up at the ceiling. That really forces you...

Re: Am I an ART Candidate?

Thanks for the responses guys!

A little more info: I dislocated my shoulder to the posterior, specifically while doing a heavy DB military press. Pressing in front of my body yields no pain, it's...

Am I an ART Candidate?

Hello all,
I have dislocated my shoulder twice in the span of about two years. The joint is luckily relatively stable, and only comes out in very rare extreme situations. I am able snatch, press,...

Re: Possible to do Westside Conjugate without all of the special gear?

I've had pretty good success doing Westside without any really specialized gear. In fact, this may be a misconception, but I think the weird equipment really doesn't become a crucial factor until...

Re: Paleo with Carb Back-Loading Principals

Sounds good! just remember to make sure that your carbs (for the backloads) are high glycemic. standard veggies won't cut it, and sweet potatoes are good but you are probably going to have to eat a...
