Re: 2016 Black Friday

It seems Uesaka will have some Competition bars on sale for Black Friday. Their FB page says 650 bucks and limited quantity. That is a pretty nice price.

Re: Switching from a power rack to a squat stand. Need advice on what one

If it is any help, I have used the S-2 rack with single pull up bar for several years. It is totally bombproof. It makes normal squat racks feel sketchy as hell. Seems prices are similar with mine...

Re: Best 120v heater

Every electric heater I have tried is totally useless in my non-insulated, drafty garage. I can't fathom how cold it gets where you are. I use a propane heater and it works great. I turn it on ten...

Re: Two old pop for dirty tests..

Regardless of age, if a well conditioned athlete's sleep and diet are on point, training twice a day shouldn't be that big of a deal. Not like it is news, but sleep and diet are as powerful tools...

Re: Two old pop for dirty tests..

Considering CF athletes have been popped, I'd say it is fact and not speculation at all. The speculation is how deep it goes

Re: Two old pop for dirty tests..

I certainly do not know who and don't much care but one would have to be pretty darn naive to believe PEDs not a thing in the CF world.

Re: Two old pop for dirty tests..

I don't particularly disagree with some of his comments regarding masters. However, if he was ignorant as he claims, the ignorance is effectively intentional. Even someone who has spent even two...

Re: Sleds

Thanks for the info... Not that you care but the reason I figured I need one is because I was getting ready (not doing anything, procrastinating, basically) to warm up to lift when I had to help my...

Sleds

What style sled is best for asphalt and dirt of varying consistency? Mostly asphalt. A three point of contact Butcher style or a two rail style? I'm talking Rogue sleds.

Gracias

Re: Did I miss the boat with Pendlay???

I know you were just venting which is cool. Assuming you don't do anything stupid to the bars (stuff that would not be covered, regardless of warranty) the things should be useable forever.

Re: building a platform to account for grade in a garage

If you have the option of getting the floor leveled as part of the sale, you should. Can't hurt to ask. You could build a platform to compensate for the slope but it will break if there are any...

Re: OK to leave plates on the bar?

Nothing wrong with leaving a bar loaded with plates sitting on a platform. I do it often. Usually after I dump my last squat and walk away for a rest day or two.

Leaving a heavy set up on a...

Re: Garage Gym Questions

I did a quick fix on my floor and beefed up my platform to another layer of plywood-up to four layers.

I rebulit my platform again because I wanted an 8x10 platform so I could keep my jerk block on...

Re: Garage Gym Questions

I will say zero bounce is horrible. Its ok if you have a bombproof platform but otherwise, some bounce is good. I destroyed my garage floor dropping Rogue HG bumpers on a three layer platform.

A...

Re: Best barbell for box use?

+1 on Eleiko. I suppose their XF bar is too expensive if you need to fill a gym-basically twice as much as a Rogue 2.0. If their XF bars have similar longevity as their WL bars, a bar should really...

Re: Looking to trade kg bumpers for lbs or sell

I trade ( whatever) in heartbeat. I have about 500 lbs in Rogue HG. Obviously not the "comp" style discs. I never use lbs

Re: Platform noise issues

I have never seen the thug mats. The Eleiko training platforms are awesome. The rubber is made by Regupol. Perfect blend of soft and sturdy. That stuff starts to get expensive though.
