Re: No energy -> No motivation?

It can also help your motivation level to find a partner to workout with, if you don't already have one.

Re: thoughts on my strength program

Just curious as to why you're recommending doing gslp and adding 100lbs to his lifts before going to 531? Is it because he would make faster initial gains with gslp?

Re: Will this work? Home gym question....

I don't think you will have anything to worry about. Most cement pads are 4" thick because they are formed up with 2x4's before the cement is poured. Whether it's reinforced with re-rod or not, I'm...

Re: Deadlift PR - 545# x 5

Now those 100lb weighted pullups are impressive. I'm a big fan of dead hangs. That's awesome. Do you use some form of linear progression for those? And how often do you do them?

chalk allergy?

I'm not sure if I have an allergy to barbell chalk but my right hand gets extremely dry, scaly, flaking, and then gets small cracks in the creases of my fingers that are painful and bleed. My left...

Re: Let's talk Airdyne!!

Also, don't forget to give your Airdyne a bad !ss nick name. I call mine the "Destroyer". You'll know what I mean after a set of Tabatas!

Re: Let's talk Airdyne!!

I have one of older Airdynes too and love it. It destroys me every time I use it for conditioning. One of my favorite workouts it Tabatas. It's short, sweet, and brutal. I use calories as a...

Re: warm up help

I know that there is an official Crossfit warmup, but I have done things like an easy 800m jog, or 5 min. easy pace on my Schwinn Airdyne. Very simple and it works.

Re: Workout in the morning

You kinda have to tell us what type of a program you're using now in order for us to tell you what we would recommend. You mentioned you want to do something in addition to the wod in the afternoon....

Re: Slow Cooker + Chicken Breasts?

Put water in with the chicken breast instead of olive oil. Probably cover them about half to three fourths with water and then add whatever seasonings you want. You can let it cook all day on low and...

Re: High school PE and calling it crossfit

Why would it be a problem even if they are calling it crossfit training? I do crossfit in my garage and call it crossfit. Is that a violation too? I would bet that the coach of these high schoolers...

Re: Accutane

My son was on accutane during his junior year in high school. He was a 4 sport athlete, and it had no noticable affect on his sports/training.

Re: Working towards a strict muscle up...

Yup, what Nik said. You do look close. Work the transition from your knees or lower the rings so that you can work it from bent knees. That way you can get the feel of the transition. From watching...

Re: Heating My Garage Gym!!!! Help

I looked into having an electric garage heater installed in my double garage. It would have been one of those that hang in the corner, probably about 2ft x 2ft or so. $150-$200 to run the 240v...

Re: How I went from 1 to 20 dips and 8 to 20 pullups in only five weeks

Interesting. What other type of programming do you do for pullups? If you can do 15 sets of 10 reps, I would think that you could do a lot more than 15 for a max rep set. I can hit 17 deadhangs and I...

Re: Trouble progressing with squats

Okay, so in simple terms, I need to start low bar back squatting and work on strengthening my hamstrings? And probably look into the Westside Program?

Blair, you are correct, I want to continue to...

Re: Schwin Airdyne bike

Based on the ones I've seen on Craigslist, that's a very good price for a brand new one. I'd buy it if it were me.

Re: Trouble progressing with squats

Assuming I get my technique ironed out, what type of a squat program would you suggest based on my goals. And can I insert it into the program that I'm already doing (my first post in this thread)?

I see what you are saying about my knees coming forward. I've always felt that they were. I've tried to sit back farther, but I always feel like I'm gonna tip over backwards. I will definately give...

Re: Trouble progressing with squats

Well Chris, I can't afford a nice squat rack or power rack with safety catches just yet so I work with what I've got. I also don't have a spotter handy either because I work out by myself in my...
