Re: 100 pistols for time. And other fun...

Um. Mount the rings in whatever way you normally do... then from support... where the palms are facing in or back... rotate the rings so your palms are forward, with the rings 'behind' your hands. ...

100 pistols for time. And other fun...

Okay kids.

I decided that this would be a fun addition to the training regime. I would however recommend that you don't do it twice a day for a couple days in a row. Walking becomes an issue.

I...

Re: The joys of coffee

Hey Matt, you do know that there is some good research out there showing that the ol' rocky style raw eggs idea doesn't work? I used to slam back raw eggs and milk all the time, and I occasionaly...

Re: 100 PullUps for Time

I decided to do this again in the evening. After a day of training my time had slowed to 5:26. I did another 63 in the 10min after that... and I am aware of my arms today *grin*. Who was the fool...

Re: The joys of coffee

I actually don't have the lows anymore. I do find that I get a certain degree of energy surge, but other than a return to normal energy levels there is no significant drop.

Plus this really isn't a...

Re: AM and PM workouts

I have heard rather effective arguments that say your strength is at its greatest 3 and 10 hours after waking up. I know that I consistently perform better once I have been awake for more than two...

Re: Push Up & Pull-Up Records

L-pullups, or as I like to call them, lever-pull up wasting.

*grin*.

Come on kids, if we are going to do pull-ups we might as well quit with the nonsense and do the real ones... I mean this is...

The joys of coffee

Okay in many ways this thread has little point other than seeing who else has miserable coffee addictions. My current fix comes in two forms and is consumed while training alongside a pitcher of...

Re: 100 PullUps for Time

Well then... that was amusing.

I got 4:56.

In keeping with posting earlier exercise/conditions... I did a session of cross work earlier on rings, a bunch of planche push-ups. My right wrist is...

Re: A little holiday deadlifting

Nicely done folks. We have some nice numbers here. I think I'll see if I can fit in some deads tomorrow again... I'll post stats when I get the chance, holidays have been a little busy.

Re: A little holiday deadlifting

Nice work Jodi. My numbers haven't gone past 400 yet, but I have been doing a lot of work on my one arm routine for straps this past week. Once the gym re-opens on the 27th I am going to go and get...

Re: The Crossfit cop-out?

To preface this I need to say that I really don't care how much running the lot of you do. What I do need to point out is the fact that I have had two huge snowstorms in Montreal in the last three...

Re: A little holiday deadlifting

Well then it looks like I will just have to go and pull the stupid weight this weekend and up the anti for New Years *grin*.

Re: A little holiday deadlifting

Well Crossfit isn't my other training demand. The 20-30 hrs of rings/circus is my other demand every week. I figure that makes up for the fact that I am not pulling a 3x bodyweight dead *grin*. In...

Re: Neck and Lower Back Exercises

Deadlifts. And back rolls flipping into a handstand using your neck are a fairly decent neck workout *grin*.

Hey Anthony, if that is you I think you need to quit doing so much leg work, I mean come...

A little holiday deadlifting

Okay so I need some competition. I started dead lifting again this last week after a year of not doing them [When I was doing circus in Aus and Africa there was either no access to a gym, or little...

Re: How much of your Fitness level is lost with 7 days of no exercise?

I wouldn't worry about it. Are you allowed to move at all? Active rest type stuff... or no activity at all?

If you are bed ridden you are going to see slightly higher losses than if you spend your...

Re: Handstand Pushups

Ooh... a fun way to do these [regardless of whether on floor or parallets], is to lower good and slow. Pause. Then explode up as quickly as possible. If you can pull off the clap so be it... if...

Re: What's harder hspu's or muscle ups?

Gina, u most likely know this... but you don't have to start that one standing either. I start sitting, or lying down. Pike and snap open and there you are. Though I would recommend not practicing...

Re: One arm chin up competition

I was working in Africa this summer and lost about 20lbs of muscle. I ended up doing an impromptu straps routine for some friends of mine one night without warming up. My shoulders just weren't...

Re: What's harder hspu's or muscle ups?

But then Roger... in all reality most people do not have a great handstand either. If you can't hold the stand easily than it becomes much harder to hold the press portion of the HSPU. Some of my...

Re: One arm chin up competition

I am 170lbs. I can do a full one arm with either arm... currently dealing with a torn anterior right delt though... so it is slowing me down on pushing that number much further forward.

Re: What's harder hspu's or muscle ups?

Well if we are going for free standing and using rings... I would say that free standing ring HSPUs are far worse. Though if you want to try doing a muscle up on ropes rather than on rings you are...

Re: New pullups

Hey Derek,

Weird to be back in country buddy...

The issue I have with that video for the ice cream maker/egg beater is that it doesn't pause in either position, and is largely using momentum to get...

Re: weighted pull ups

I prefer placing a towel through the weights and then holding that in my mouth *grin*...

On a slightly more practical note, I would say be careful with backpacks... if they aren't designed to hold...
