Yes just brace the 2x4 or 2x6 firmly across the joist and it will be fine. I did the same things with mine and my rings and they are solid

I took two 1/2" bolts by like 6" long and drilled straight threw the studs and put washers on both ends and a bolt then a lock nut on the ends. They will NOT move.

Should be a little difference. I believe that the climbing chalk will crumble a little easier but should work.

I bought the Troy VTX bumpers and have 0 issues with them. My wife and I both do WOD's in the garage and occasionally I have buddies over that lift with me. I have had them for about ohhhh 2 years...

Ya, the uprights are welded in. I though about making it so it will pop off and on but i have a full size truck and wasn't really worried about breaking it down if I was going to transport it.
