Re: CrossFit sues Anthos/Bryan Kelly for Tortious Interference

Tom, the most significant part of this post, from what I can tell is that:
- Greg's going on the offensive, which is one way of taking control of the dispute; and more importantly
- triggering a...

Re: The tale of a crossfitter's first marathon

Haha, thanks Peter. My friend with whom I made the bet chickened out after a month or so training, shin splints or something.

I didn't mention that I did a POSE running clinic with Dr Romanov about...

Re: The tale of a crossfitter's first marathon

Haha, sorry Joe, "is a ripper" means fantastic.

Thanks Jon, your words "Gun it like hell" for the last 250m were taunting me for the last 15kms as I was thinking "I'm not going to be able to gun it...

Re: The tale of a crossfitter's first marathon

Thanks Randy. I've been following a loose paleo diet for the last couple of years, but I perhaps have about 4 to 5 standard drinks a week and that often coincides with eating out at restaurants,...

The tale of a crossfitter's first marathon

About 10 months ago, I made a bet with a friend to run this year's Melbourne marathon.

I made it clear then that I wouldn't suddenly start cranking up the kilometres, because when I've done that in...

Re: New WOD Recording Tool Just Launched/Beyond the Whiteboard (threads merged)

I don't seem to be able to edit my answer so I should add here the answers to my own questions (as is often the case...). I believe you can request WoDs, but I assume that it is unlikely that I can...

Re: New WOD Recording Tool Just Launched/Beyond the Whiteboard (threads merged)

Jonathan, a couple of questions:
- is there a possibility for me to add in non-CF WoDs? For instance, I did a 60K ride this morning. Is there anyway I can keep track of that in the system? I assume...

Re: New WOD Recording Tool Just Launched/Beyond the Whiteboard (threads merged)

Jonathan,

Just a quick note to say thanks for your prompt response to my queries and to say pay you the highest compliment I think that I can give, namely that, I was about to enter my details for a...

Re: Anyone use a Timex 5J985? (Trail Runner)

Well Prosportwatches couldn't send me a 5J985 as it was a condition set by Timex that they can't be sold outside the US.

However, they were good enough to replace the damaged Timex Ironman OVA.

It...

Re: Triathletes

Jim, this isn't exactly on point, but last year, at the age of 40, I did my first triathlon, having done little or no specific triathlon training (but following CF closely), I finished in the top 19%...

Re: Experiences building a lifting platform

Paul, thank you for taking the time to post that in so much detail.

I intend to build one of these in the next few months and your experiences will be invaluable.

Particularly so, because my garage...

Re: Marathon training & crossfit scheduling

You've answered all my questions.

Will follow your suggested strategy in the Melbourne Marathon after making a bet with someone recently that I could do it.

I've done Triathlons before doing only...

Anyone use a Timex 5J985? (Trail Runner)

On the recommendation of a few people here, I bought a Timex OVA ironman triathlon watch a couple of years ago.

It has done me very well for CF: the interval timer and countdown functions have been...

Plates getting stuck on one end of an Oly bar: solution?

A few of my weights are getting stuck on one end of an Oly bar.

What is the best way of getting them to slide back on and off?

The inside of the weights appear to be a softish metal, so I'm...

Re: Broken collarbone (6 weeks on) what CF options?

Fair enough. I had two fractures too and while the alignment looked good at first, six weeks on the alignment is all out of whack and I probably should have had the surgery after all.

Still everyone...

Broken collarbone (6 weeks on) what CF options?

I'm six weeks into a broken collarbone after a fall from my bike.

I'm keen to get back into the program, but clearly it will have to be modified. Any suggestions? I reckon I can do squats, I've been...

Re: Building a micro garage gym: any help appreciated

Thanks Jeremy, I've found an as-new C2 for 1900. 6 mths old. That should do.

I take your point about not buying Oly weights, but I have my heart set on getting a couple of really nice bars and some...

Re: Building a micro garage gym: any help appreciated

Haha, you guys taking living in American for granted. :)

That said, the C2 price is a bit steep. Even the Australian retail for the E-series is 2,200.

Think I might ask for more detail on the oly...

Re: Building a micro garage gym: any help appreciated

I've had a quick look at the pillars of power, that's a good idea, but I suspect that I might want something a bit more substantial. Still, I take your point.

I've forwarded Greg Everett's article...

I have a flat bench that I was intending to use for bench pressing in the cage. But a plyo box is something that I don't have, that I need. Will add...

Well, I'm moving into a new house in the next couple of weeks. Part of the deal that I struck with my lovely wife, is that I am able to convert the one car garage into a gym.

At the moment, the...
