I modified the tabata workout yesterday to include a full 16mins of tabata squats:

15 squats / interval +20 at the end = 500 squats in 16:20.

Has anyone done 1000 in a single effort / continous intervals? How long?

I'll rest for a few days, try it, and post...

I did 700 once and it wasn't that bad. Bodyweight squats for high reps are surprisingly easy if you go at a slow and constant pace and stay below the lactate threshold. What worked for me was about 30 a minute. If you put them into intervals or do them quickly they certainly get difficult though.

This sounds like an incredbile competition to place before my two squabbling teens. This should prove to test(subdue) the current testosterone level around here. hehe can't wait!!!

500 in 9:58. 50 per min will get you puffing.

I managed 500 in 14.52,I was pleased I got under 15mins but Josh has blew that away so I have another goal to go for now.Under 10 mins very impressive!

if i start out at 200 in 4 minutes, i can build to 500 in 10 in about 2 months.
