Spine clicking after soft tissue work on chest - what does it mean?

I just grabbed a tennis ball and started pressing/rolling it over my pec minor and noticably tight areas over the front of my shoulders, and when I stopped it and straightened my back out when I yawned, my spine clicked like crazy.

The more soft tissue work I do, the more it clicks - it's not painful or anything. Is it a side effect of 'freeing up' tissue in my chest and shoulders, and if so, what's the science behind it?

The ribs have joint articulations with the spine, so yes there can be clicking working with any of muscle or other tissues associated with the ribs and spine.

Do some soft tissue back work and see if that evens things out.
