Hey

My name is Zvi, I've been crossfiting for the last 2 years and about to go to my level 1 cert in Milan Italy at the end of November. We have a nice and growing crossfit community here in Israel. It is constantly adding new members, but we all usually worked out alone at home or in parks in small groups.
On the 5th of November I turned 35 and I decided to celebrate it by having a crossfit birthday storm. The chosen WOD was FGB, 3 rds of 5 min symbols nicely my 35 years. 16 of us met at Park Hayarkon on the 12th of November at 19:00 to do FGB. We only subbed the C2 rower (hard to get it to the park), with double unders instead of burpees. It was great and first of all FUN! Nothing beats the feeling you get when going through a WOD in a group that all are experiencing the same hell as you.
To all who came and took part a big :thanx: and here is a small clip of the occasion

Well we started something new today at the gym where we took an entire white board and made blocks with Named Wods and other milestones such as 5k Run, 1 mile run, 2k row, clean and jerk, etc. What we are doing is the top 5 male and females put their time/weight on the board. Anyone can challenge and try to take anyones place. I know competition is not what Crossfit is supposed to be about but everyone knows that in a gym most people fight to have the TOD. However, today we ran for our 1 mile PR and the time to beat was 5:58. Well i ran as hard as i could and despite a headwind the last 600 meters i came in at 5:55 for a new PR. I just love how you can just do crossfit and no running training and still run sub six even at 203#. So any Crossfit haters can read this and get off their high horse.

So what seems like a long time ago back in the beginning of August I started my crossfit journey. I went full swing into it, starting with 30days of rather strict paleo (added in milk), and read starting strength. Then Crosscountry season started, and I juggled my crossfit in ever now in then.

Anyone here are some benchmarks from when I started to now:
Then Now
5k: 33:36 19:05
Cindy: 10rounds 15
Fran: 8:33, used around 45lbs of weight , first time with thrusters

My backsquat is over 160
My bench is 120s
My deadlift is over 145 (first time, havent done it again)
My Chest press is around 40lbs (only done once I think)
400m: 1:20
2mile: 11:48 (5k split at the 2mile)
1mile: 5:48
Tabata something else: 240 reps
Ryan (Scaled did pullups dips,4per muscle up): 30:34

Basically most of the results I have. But the biggest change has been my appearence and my weight. I dropped to 128 pounds from 144, and am now at 136 and have I am guessing, around 10-11% bodyfat. None of my jeans fit either, I dropped 3sizes roughly from a 32, to a 28/29.

Thank you Crossfit and members of this forum.

Now 2 questions:
Crosscountry is over, and wintertrack is nearing...
1. How long should i take off to rest, I have had practice virtually 5 on 1 off since August 20th and have done sometimes 2-3 workouts a day and havent had more then 3 straight days off other then when i was sick, so should i take a week off?
And anything specific i should do to get ready for Winter track i think i am doing 2mile, 1mile events.

Thanks you again everyone!

So I have been doing ss for about 3 weeks now. I was happy with my strength but I wanted to gain some weight, so i figured id give it a shot.

Im 21, 5'7", and started at 160lbs. Im up to 164 right now.

Anyways, today I was doing my 3x5 squats, which is currently 285 (5lbs increase each workout) As I finished my last set a guy that looked all puffed up from creatine and his 200 bicep curls walked by a gave me this weird look.
I turned to him with a look on my face like, what? He said to me, "dude, thats a sh** load of weight, and you took those squats really deep."

I chuckled and said thanks. It felt good to have a guy many people would consider "buff and strong" look at my squats and be dumbfounded!!!

Hey all wanted to share as I am still stoked from last night at the box. Started CrossFiting about 9 weeks and 40lbs ago. 7 weeks ago we CrossFit totaled and I hit 830, with 300BS, 135 OHP, and 395DL.

Between CrossFit and strict paleo the entire time (4 meals total that i have cheated on) I was able to push my CrossFit total almost 200lbs. Hit 385BS, 165OHP, and 475DL.

The training and guidance I have been getting at TriCities CrossFit has been amazing, with a shout out to the greater CrossFit community. This is only 1 step in a long road to get back into shape but i am really stoked after last night.
