View Full Version : Good kipping pull-ups or not?

Just wondering if these are good kipping pull-ups or not. My time on the WOD today seems pretty fast compared to some on there and I just want to make sure I am doing these right.

The video is of my last 19 pul-ups for the 105 in the WOD today. It was a killer and i wanted to get all the 20 at the same time, but it did not happen.

Please tell me what I can do to improve my kipping form. I was pretty tiered at this point so my legs are coming up kind of high . The first 80 were much easier :biggrinthumb:

I am not at all good at Kipping Pull-Ups (need to practice) but from what I can tell you aren't pushing away at the top.

Jason's advice is good. Think about actively pushing away from the bar at the top. Also, you're scrubbing momentum at the bottom. What you want is to let your chest come forward and head through the arms at the bottom (think "C" shape with your body). Otherwise, they look good. Your timing looks fine. Hope this helps.

Yeah, I was pretty tiered at the point and the push on the top was not really there...

Thanks guys. I will work on this so I can get all 35 at once next time the Fran-athon comes back....
