View Full Version : My knee clicks

howdy hi,

I've just started doing deep squat movements, and squat movements with a load, ie: front, OH and the oly lifts, and have noticed that my knee clicks, just past the 90 degree mark. It's my left knee, and feels like the prominent ligament on the outside at the back. I don't know the name of it, but I hope my explanation is sufficient.

It doesn't hurt, but is quite pronounced and even audible when under any more load than BW. Is there anything I can do myself before lining the physio's pocket with my money?

Thanks,

Dave

Dave, you might stretch your ITB / TFL before squatting and see if it's any better. You could also use a foam roll to work any kinks out.

What is the best way to stretch the ITB?

And just as importantly, what is the ITB/TFL?

Thanks,

Dave
